Programme
This Masterclass explores St Ives at a leisurely pace on foot, focusing on the immediate environment to create images from everyday objects. Combining light, colour, texture, perspective, composition and emotion to produce abstract photographs.
Participants will be guided to develop their ‘photographer’s eye’, to find the lyrical in small details, the beautiful in the imperfect, and to explore the captivating intricacies of the world around us.
Photography is often used to represent the ‘real world’ but abstract images take another direction. Abstract photography is based on opening the senses to connect with the world around us and see and experience another reality.
This masterclass aims to develop an inner awareness of seeing the extraordinary in the everyday, whilst cultivating a rewarding sense of inner space.
The glorious light that defines St Ives, continues to inspire artists to this day.
Abstract art propelled St. Ives onto the world stage as the powerhouse of Modern Art.
